The traditional hot shave has returned to Ballston Spa with the opening of Straight Edge Barbershop at 82 Milton Ave., according to owners Jeremiah Seror and Nicholas Paradise.

“The old school hot shave is one of our specialties,” said Paradise. “But we also do a lot of flat tops, fades, that kind of thing. Really any kind of style.”

The young partners opened their shop on Tuesday, April 17.

Paradise is a Ballston Spa native, while Seror is a transplant from Troy.

“I definitely wanted to be part of this area,” said Seror, “it’s the next Saratoga. I like it that everybody’s out all the time. It’s really nice to see people walking around the streets of their own community.”

A traditional haircut is $15, but police officers and active duty military personnel get a $5 discount. Senior citizens over the age of 65 also get a 20 percent discount.

Straight Edge is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The shop is closed on Mondays. For information and a full list of prices and services call 518-590-5442.
