NYS Police, Malta Barracks:

Joanne M. Bell-Long,  Hudson FallsDWI: Joanne M. Bell-Long, 39, of Hudson Falls was arrested on Friday, Mar. 6 in the Town of Malta for DWI.  Bell-Long was asked to provide a breath sample during a vehicle and traffic stop on State Rte. 9,  at which she was discovered to be over two times the legal limit of .08 percent.  She was issued tickets to appear in Malta court on a later date and turned over to a responsible third party.
 Molly Funk Malta, NYDWAI and Drugs: Molly K. Funk, 23, of Malta, was arrested for driving while ability impaired by alcohol and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. Troopers initially responded to a 911 call for an erratic vehicle traveling on I-87.  After locating the vehicle, troopers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage while speaking to the operator.  Standardized field sobriety tests were administered and Funk was placed under arrest for DWI.  A subsequent search of Funk also produced a quantity of illegally possessed prescription drugs. She was processed and released to appear in court at a later date.
Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office:

Unsafe backing: David Molik of Juniper Dr., Ballston Spa backed into a school bus picking up children Monday morning, Mar. 2. Authorities said Molik was backing out of his driveway at approximately 8:30 a.m. and hit a stopped school bus operated by Diane McCabe of Ballston Spa with its red rights as it picked up children. Molik was ticketed for unsafe backing and no injuries were reported.

D.W.I.:  Kevin A. Weils, 46, of Ballston Spa was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 17 and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, D.W.I., aggravated D.W.I., following too closely, consumption of alchohol in the vehicle and for aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree.  He is due in court on Feb. 23. Village of Ballston Spa Police Dept:

Harassment: John Gonzalez, 20, of Amsterdam was charged was arrested on Monday, Feb. 16 and charged with harassment in the 2nd degree for striking another person in the head with a full can of soft drink during an argument on Low St., Ballston Spa. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Village court at a later date.

Larceny: Rick Sweet, 27, of Ballston Spa was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 17 for petit larceny and for resisting arrest. He is to appear in Village court to respond to the charges on Mar. 2.

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office:

Sex Offenders:  In a press release dated Wednesday, Feb. 18, arrests in the community from May, 2014 thru February, 2015 were detailed with photos. Six of the listed offenders have addresses in the Ballston Spa and Malta neighborhoods. Saratoga County District Attorney:

Attempted Burglary: Kevin Leno, 30, of Ballston Spa was sentenced to two to four years in State Prison on Tuesday, Feb. 17 for attempted burglary in the third degree. Leno pled guilty on Dec. 22, 2014 for a crime committed in Ballston Spa on Sept. 28, 2014.

Indecent Material:  Paul Krupski, 56, of Ballston pled guilty to possessing a sexual performance by a child on Wednesday, Feb. 18, an “E” felony. Krupski will we sentenced on Apr. 15.
