Capital Mac Service was started in 2014 by Mark H. Delfs after he left the Apple Store in Albany where he worked for 13 years as a “Mac Genius”. While there, he noticed a need for services on older Apple Macintosh computers, referred to as “vintage” or “obsolete” that are typically over three years old. He decided to capture and service some of this market that is often turned away from the Apple Store.
Since opening his business in April of 2014, which is based in Malta, Mark has already repaired and upgraded hundreds of computers from iMacs to Macbooks and Macbook Pros. Mark also has many years of experience performing Macintosh training, sales and repair service.
Capital Mac Service offers dozens of services including: introductory Macintosh training, Macintosh RAM upgrades, college or business lab support, Macintosh security consultation, software installation and Mac OS X upgrades, possible hard drive data recovery, hard drive and SSD upgrades and more. Capital Mac Service also does minor repairs on vintage and out-of-warranty Macs. Additionally, Mark is starting to branch more into business services, such as working with businesses that don’t have an on-site Macintosh repair technician or IT staff.
Capital Mac Service currently services Apple users in and around the Capital Region including: Albany, Ballston Spa, Clifton Park, Colonie, East Greenbush, Lake George, Glens Falls, Green Island, Latham, Loudonville, Malta, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Troy, Watervliet and Wilton.
Working from home means low overhead, and those savings are passed along to the client. Mark also offers free online tutorial videos, explaining basic Macintosh concepts to clients around the globe on YouTube.
At Capital Mac Service you will enjoy a relaxed, helpful environment without the hassle of having to drive to a crowded mall. “Most of our competitors don’t offer pickup or delivery, which is a big draw for a good part of our clients,” said Mark. “Capital Mac Service offers extended hours (often via email and text messaging), well after competitors have closed for the day.”
When Mark isn’t working with Capital Mac Service clients, he can be found working on his other two local businesses: a graphic design business called Remote Art Department, and an online apparel design business.
