David G. Regis

BALLSTON SPA-David G. Regis, 78, of Ballston Spa, passed away on Thursday, May 3. David was a graduate of Ballston Spa High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Germany from 1954 to 1956. David was a life member and past commander of the VFW Post #358 in Ballston Spa. He is survived by his wife, Martha (Anderson) Regis; two sons, Terrance (Susan) Regis of Cocoa, FL, and James (Darlene) Regis of Ballston Spa; two daughters, Diane (Paul) Armer of Middle Grove, and Susan (John) Abbott of Wilton; three grandchildren, Christina (Mark) Borden, David Abbott, and Ryan Abbott; two great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Milton Ave., Ballston Spa. David was buried with military honors at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Saratoga. BALLSTON SPA-Lynn D. Purdy Jr., 48, died on Monday, May 6. A committal service with full military honors was held on May 10 at Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery.

Tyler W. Middleton

BALLSTON SPA-Tyler W. Middleton, 49, of Laural Lane, passed away on Monday, April 29. Tyler was employed by Quick Response Restoration in Round Lake for 21 years. Survivors include his mother, Dorothy J. Middleton of Ballston Spa; his son, Zachary A. Middleton of Rome; his brother, Todd Middleton of Queensbury; a nephew, Jacob A. Middleton of Porters Corners; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of extended family and friends. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice in honor of Tyler Middleton.

Guido Frisone

BALLSTON SPA-Guido Frisone, 80, of Ballston Spa, passed away on Tuesday, May 7. Guido served in the US Army in the Korean War and received several medals, including two Purple Hearts. He is survived by his wife, Francine Frisone; daughters, Lisa (Eugene) Kaufmann, Dorthea and Georgette Frisone, and Laurie (Richard) Steese; granddaughter, Emma Kaufmann; his sister, Louise Demanovich; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Raymond Dobler

BALLSTON SPA-Raymond Dobler, 71, of Ballston Spa, passed away on Thursday, May 2. He is survived by his children, Peter (Wendy) Dobler of Wynantskill, Carl (Crystal) Dobler of Ballston Spa, and Wendy (Dave) Hearn of Fremont, CA; his grandchildren, Ryan, Mariah, Nathan and Brian, all of Wynantskill, Carissa and Evan of Ballston Spa, and Mark and Sara of Fremont, CA; his sisters, Ellen (Tony) of Rotterdam, and Fay of Schenectady; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna at a later date. Ballston Journal Stanley Rhodes ObituaryNORTH PORT, FL-Stanley (Archie) Rhodes, 80, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on May 4, 2013 surrounded by his wife, daughter and friends, while under the care of TideWell Hospice in North Port, Florida.

He was born March 28, 1933 in Ballston Spa, NY to the late Clyde (Dusty) and Alice Rhodes. “Archie” served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the carrier, USS Hornet. Rhodes was a part-time Police Officer in Saratoga Springs, and in the 70’s owned Archie’s Place, a well known tavern in Ballston Spa, NY. He retired from Espey Mfg. and Electronics Corp. in Saratoga Springs, NY as well as from the U.S. Naval Reserve with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW; he enjoyed pool, darts, horseshoes, bowling and playing cards with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Rae Rhodes, sons, Steven Rhodes and Scott Robson of Ballston Spa; daughter Misty (Tony) Straus of Saratoga Springs; brothers, Gary, Dennis (Donna), Terrance; Karen Rhodes the mother of Steven Rhodes, and seven grandchildren; Kasey, Kally, Shea, Jade, Nick, Jeremy and Zachary. He was preceded in death by his sister Lillian, and brother Clyde (Corky), Robert and Ronald Rhodes.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Ballston Spa, NY on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. Military Services will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, NY.

BALLSTON SPA-Irene Rose (Chase) Baker, 86, passed away on Saturday, May 4. Survivors include her sister, Ada Boucher; her niece and care giver, Kathy Barnes; and many other nieces and nephews. BALLSTON SPA-Maureen T. Bachert, 67, of Ballston Spa passed away Sunday, May 5. Maureen was a communicant of the Church of St. Peter in Saratoga Springs and taught religious education and confirmation classes for many years. Maureen is survived by her husband, Harry J. Bachert Jr.; her daughter, Michele (Jay) Battle; her grandchildren, Connor Battle, Jordan Battle, Ana Clark, and Josie Clark; siblings, John Convery, Kathleen Celluci, Jane Bonthron, James Convery, Ann Woods and Thomas Convery; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, at the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs. Burial will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville. MALTA-Barbara N. LaBounty, 73, passed away on Friday, April 26. BALLSTON SPA-Tarsilla M. Cromie, 99, died on Sunday, April 28. She was active in local organizations, including Milton Grange #685, Ballston Center Homemakers, The National Bottle Museum, and was a charter member of the Saratoga Co. Historical Society. She is survived by daughter-in-law, Lee Cromie; sons, James P. (Doris) Cromie and John J. (Vicky) Cromie; her sister-in-law, Jean Schuster; six grandchildren, Sandra (Wes) Burch, Bonny (Don) Henderson, Christian (Kathy) Cromie, Laura (Rue) Kemmerling, Michelle Cromie, and Suzanne (Jim) Schiltz; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
