The Ballston Spa Lions Club held their annual Harvest Dinner at the 4-H building on Wednesday Nov. 4, 2015 and presented Cornell Cooperative Extension Saratoga representative Greg Stevens with a $1,000 donation in support of the club’s programs. Stevens is pictured with King Lion Diane Lange and Lion Eileen Holzworth, Club Treasurer.

SEPTEMBER 21 -This free community event will raise money for bullet and stab protective vests for the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department K9s Unit, which consists of 10 dogs. Held rain or shine from 10am-4pm at the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department, 6010 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa. Free on-site parking.
“Protecting the Paws in Blue” is family and pet-friendly. Dogs must be on a leash; retractable leashes are not permitted. Some of the activities include a K9 demonstration being held at approximately 1pm, a pet costume contest, and a canine agility demonstration. Special guests include David Louis, animal communicator; Hudson, “The Railroad Puppy” and renown caricature artist, Rich Conley. The MacBoston 18 Truck-Fallen Firefighter Memorial will be on display. There will be face painting, balloon twisting, vendors, raffles, food, beverages, blessing of animals, photo booth, kids’ activity tent and much more for the whole family to enjoy. Event sponsors include Curtis Lumber in Ballston Spa, Stewart’s Shops in Ballston Lake, Northeast Mobile Search & Rescue, Morris Ford, Ballston Lake Emergency Squad, Lasting Impressions, Dentistry, Ballston Spa Lions Club, Charton Septic, Rain or Shine Tent Company, and Seeing I Studio.
