MILLENNIAL MONEY MANAGEMENT GUIDE
Flippant and factual book for Young American’s financial future
Ballston Spa resident, former financial planner and nationally recognized author and speaker Joe Templin has written a new book called “Financial Mistakes of Young Americans: What They DIDN’T Teach You!”, a follow up to “Financial Mistakes of New College Grads.”
Templin describes his work in a press release as a snarky yet insightful financial planning guide for the eighty million Millennials in America.
“Young Americans are entering the workforce completely unprepared. Parents, professors, administration: none of them are giving the Millennial Generation the guidance needed to be financial adults,” said Templin.
The book is based on Templin’s view of the average twenty-something in America today: student loans the size of a mortgage, uncertainty in the job market, a stock market more volatile than before and being thrown into this without the skills needed “to adult”.
He further says in his release his expertise on the subject comes from “two decades of experience and tens of thousands of meetings with this group that has been largely overlooked by the financial advisor world.”
“The most important skill to learn is the one not taught in a class. It is the skill to set a goal for financial independence,” adds Dr. Thomas Tarantelli, former Director RPI Career Center and EACE Past President.
Templin was one of the 4 Under 40 for Advisor Today Magazine in 2011 and qualified numerous times for the Million Dollar Round Table while focusing on Millennials. He speaks all over the country on business ethics and coaches young financial advisors. He has dedicated most of his professional career to working with those relatively new to the workforce, to guide them so they lay a good groundwork for their future both personally and professionally. Although no longer a practicing CFP®, Templin has impacted tens of thousands of students and professionals with his writing and speaking.
