The Town of Milton, in association with the Milton Farmland Preservation Committee, will be hosting a public meeting to learn about and provide input on the development of a Farmland Preservation Plan. The meeting will be held on Apr. 30, 7 p.m. at the Milton Town Hall, 503 Geyser Road, Milton.
The Farmland Preservation Plan is designed to identify ways in which the town can support and encourage agriculture, preserve open space and viewsheds, provide locally gown food and maintain a low tax base. Draft recommendations for the plan will be presented, with the opportunity for the public to weigh in and provide suggestions or comments.
This public meeting is one of the final steps in the planning process, funded in part by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. Representatives from the Town of Milton, as well as planning consultants, will be on hand to answer questions.
All local residents are encouraged to attend and provide input!
