BALLSTON- In a move that led to angry exchanges at Tuesday night’s Ballston Town Board meeting, Town Supervisor Patrick Ziegler and Deputy Supervisor Timothy Szczepaniak voiced support for calling a referendum to establish the long-awaited Sewer District around Ballston Lake.
The annual, statewide, school budget vote and Board of Education elections will be held May 15, 7:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. District residents vote in either the Malta Town Hall (residents of Malta) or the Ballston Spa High School (residents of Milton, Ballston and Charlton).
Three seats are available on the Board, each for a three-year term, commencing July, 2012. On the ballot are Kevin Schaefer, Christine Richardson, Nancy Fodera and Donna Miter.
The annual “School Pride Day” will be held concurrently with the school district vote. Student artwork and classroom projects will be on display at the High School and at the Malta Town Hall throughout the day. The Middle School and High School Student Art Show will be held at the High School along with student musical performances in the cafeteria, community wide barbeque and old fashioned ice cream social.
The annual Penny Harvest presentation, honoring students collection efforts and donations, will be held at 6:15 p.m., followed by the Middle School Spring Concert at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. All performances are free and open to the public.
