Vehicle: Thomas J. Millington, 32, of Ballston Spa, was arrested Friday, June 17, 2016, on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree. Court date is set for June 27.
Vehicle: Garrett M. Rossetti, 41, of Schenectady, was arrested Friday, June 17, 2016, on a charge of operation while registration or privilege is suspended or revoked. Court date is set for June 27.
Trespassing: Peter A. Marks, 75, of Ballston Spa, was arrested Friday, June 17, 2016, on a charge of trespassing. Court date is set for June 20.
Endangering Welfare of a Elderly Person/Physical Abuse/Willful Violation of Health Laws: Thani Harripersaud, 48, of Schenectady, was arrested Friday, June 17, 2016, on charges of endangering the welfare of an incompetent elderly person, willful violation of health laws and physical abuse. Harripersaud was arraigned before a judge and released on own recognizance. The arrest was made following a joint investigation into an injury sustained by a resident in January at the Saratoga Center for Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing.
Saratoga County Sheriff’s OfficeAssault/Aggravated Criminal Contempt/Criminal Possession of a Weapon: Norman L. Ward, 58, of Charlton, was arrested June 9, 2016, on charges of assault in the third degree, aggravated criminal contempt and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree following an investigation into a report of a violent domestic incident in Charlton. Ward was arraigned and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secure bond. The Charlton Town Police Department and the New York State Police assisted.

DWI: Akai K. Watson, 28, of Ballston Spa, pleaded guilty Thursday, June 22, 2016, to a charge of driving while intoxicated. Watson was arrested March 1 in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 24.
Aggravated Criminal Contempt: Joseph R. Gourd, 34, of Ballston Spa, pleaded guilty Wednesday, June 21, 2016, to a charge of aggravated criminal contempt. Gourd was arrested April 4 in Milton. Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 23.
Aggravated DWI: Gerald E. Baumgartner, 40, of Malta, pleaded guilty Wednesday, June 21, 2016, to a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated. Baumgartner was arrested Dec. 24, 2015, in Clifton Park/Halfmoon. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 27.
DWI: Brian J. Nitsche, 45, of Greenfield Center, was sentenced Thursday, June 16, 2016, to one to three years in prison and three years conditional discharge. Nitsche pleaded guilty April 21 to a charge of driving while intoxicated. He was arrested Feb. 26 in Malta.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Harold L. Wolcott, 40, of Ballston Spa, and charged him with first-degree strangulation and second-degree manslaughter.
The sheriff’s office said it responded to a 911 call about a disturbance Friday, April 29, 2016, in the Creek and Pines Mobile Home Park in Milton. Deputies said they found that Wolcott and Scott A. Montie, 51, of Ballston Spa, were fighting but that Montie was not breathing. A deputy started CPR while EMS was called, according to the sheriff’s office. Community Ambulance Corps transported Montie to Saratoga Hospital in critical condition.
According to the sheriff’s office, a physical altercation began after Wolcott, who is the mobile home park manager, confronted Montie over Montie playing loud music. Wolcott was charged with strangulation April 29 and was bonded out of jail later that evening. On Sunday, May 1, Montie died as the result of his injuries. The sheriff’s office charged Wolcott with manslaughter May 2 and accused him of recklessly causing Montie’s death. Wolcott was arraigned in Milton Town Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond. He has since bonded out of jail and is due back in Milton Town Court on May 5.
New York State Police Forensic Identification Unit, Troop G assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office and the Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County are holding a free car seat check from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at the sheriff’s office in Ballston Spa.
The event is open to the public. Technicians from Cornell and the sheriff’s office will be available to teach car seat owners and to ensure proper car seat installation.
