Digital Marketing and Media-New Business Development Representative

Started in 1798, The Ballston Journal is currently seeking a motivated New Business Development Representative to sell and market our well known, high quality digital media products and media services that mix up marketing services, public relations, sponsored content, social media promotions and more.

The primary responsibilities for this position are to: Create and develop new leads, make sales presentations, facilitate promotions for clients and build solid, long lasting relationships.

In addition to generating your own leads, you will be given company leads and marketing support to help build your territory. Options to be sold include but are not limited to:

TRADITIONAL MEDIA: Banner ads, (Slide Deck spots, Side Bar and/or Skyscraper sold by topic (i.e. Sports, Obituaries)), Mobile Marketing, Feature Business Profiles with photos and/or video, Business Directory listings, basic or enhanced

UPSELLS and NON-TRADITIONAL MEDIA: Email marketing, Social Media set-up, fix-up or management (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Yelp, etc.), Coupons, Copywriting, Content Marketing, Graphic Design: Logos, Sales Collateral, Menus, Flyers, Video & Photography, Advertorials, paid blog space with ad, Event listings, Public Relations, Media Buying, Event Marketing, New Website or Fix & Update Current Website.

You will receive some training to prepare you for a successful career in sales/marketing with potential career advancement opportunities however we do look for:


-A minimum of two years sales experience or comparable in which you had to initiate a relationship
-Possess a skill set as a successful hunter, closer and marketer
-Ability to generate leads and build a territory
-Self starter who enjoys solving complex problems
-Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
-Excellent customer service skills
-Ability to work a flexible schedule (nights and weekends)
-A valid drivers license and your own transportation
-Helpful experience to have: WordPress, Email Marketing, Social Media Management,basic knowledge of SEO, CMS, mobile media marketing
-Salary is base plus commission on all signed contracts with monthly cell/mileage allowance AFTER a successful 4 week training and probationary period. Health insurance after 90 days. First year earnings for the right candidate are $50k-$55k minimum with growth potential.
