BALLSTON SPA — Front Street will be getting another eatery that is sure to be a village favorite. Next Door Kitchen & Bar is a new restaurant featuring locally sourced menu items, New York craft beers, New York Craft spirits and sustainable practices.
The restaurant,owned by Front Street Deli Owners Matt Hall and Chris Fignar, will be full service, including a bar serving up contemporary comfort food featuring ingredients from their own garden located on Science Street. Hall said they will also be working with many local farms and focus on using sustainable practices.
“Some of those practices include using a food to fuel program where we recycle our fryer oil and it goes back to one of our distributors to be used as fuel in their delivery trucks and we will be sending any non-protein scraps back to one of our farms to be used a animal feed,” said Hall.
“We are fully renovating and using a good amount of reclaimed wood for the project, that came out of a restaurant that was a mainstay for 30 years in Lake George and before that, came from a barn in the Warrensburg area,” he added.
The bar will feature NY craft beer, wine and spirits and utilizing a variety of fresh and local ingredients that are specific to New York State.
