False Personation: Michael A. Day, 42, of Albany, was arrested Nov. 3, 2015, after giving a false name during a traffic stop on Interstate 87 southbound in the town of Malta. Just before 2 p.m., a trooper stopped Day’s vehicle for moving from his lane unsafely. While interviewing him, Day gave the trooper the false name of Michael Ferguson with an incorrect date of birth after being advised it was a crime to do so. A DMV check of Day’s license revealed his true identity and that he was operating his vehicle while having a suspended license. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Wilton barracks for processing. The vehicle was turned over to a valid driver on scene. Day was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree and false personation. He was released on traffic tickets and an appearance ticket returnable to Malta Town Court on Nov. 17.
