Students in the P-TECH program at the Clean Technologies and Sustainable Industries Early College High School presented their final projects reflecting on their year to business partners, educators and families Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Hudson Valley Community College’s TEC-SMART in Malta. Ninth-grade students took attendees through an interactive “Game On,” composed of scenarios they encountered and overcame throughout the school year. Attendees were also able to view this year’s ninth-grade video clip in which the students describe what the program meant for them.
The 10th-grade students prepared a display about their favorite career pathway from the school’s four options: clean energy, computer science, entrepreneurship or mechatronics. Students presented specific details about the pathway they chose to take coursework in next year and what they felt was important about that pathway.
Parents, educators, program partners and the community are invited to attend the Clean Technologies and Sustainable Industries Early College High School graduation ceremony at 8;30 a.m. Wednesday, June 8 at TEC-SMART in Malta. Over 60 students from throughout the region are completing the program this spring. They will also present their capstone projects following the ceremony in the atrium.
