BALLSTON SPA — On Monday, June 13, Ron Henry was appointed as the new trustee for the Village of Ballston Spa. He replaced Richard Duffy who stepped down just a few months ago.
The 53 year old has been a resident of Ballston Spa for the last 25 years working for General Mills as an account manager. Henry has also been a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the last eight years.
“I decided now would be a great tie to get more involved in the village,” he said. “I am a person who looks at all the facts whatever the issue or subject may be and by the same token I have the ability to be a person who can listen to people’s concerns or opinions and make decisions that will help move the village forward in a positive way.”
He is ready to tackle an issue that may arise in the area and aid in creating viable solutions.
”I think the board and especially Mayor Romano have done an outstanding job and also the fact only being Trustee for a week so I would say no changes,” Henry said. “Aging infrastructure and limited funding is certainly the biggest concern facing the village today. I think we need to continue to explore the Federal and State programs that could help offset the costs as well as continue to be as efficient as we can with spending.”
Most of all, though, Henry couldn’t be happier to serve the area that he loves. “When [people say it’s a] ‘Village Of Friends’ it really is, we do a lot of community activities that bring family and friends closer. That is one of the things I like best about the village.”
