Boyark Running for State Assembly

MECHANICVILLE – Chris Boyark has formally announced his candidacy for the state Assembly.

Boyark, a local Republican and long-time manager at Hannoush Jewelers, is seeking the seat for the 113th Assembly District. He held a press conference on Monday, June 27, at the Italian Fraternal Society, 38 Viall Ave., to announce his intentions.

Boyark also is a local business owner who served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from American Public University System. He was endorsed by the Saratoga Republican Committee earlier this year.

“I want to thank the Saratoga County Republican Committee for their endorsement,” Boyark said in a statement at the time of the endorsement. “The people of 113th Assembly District were promised a strong independent voice in Albany; however, the sitting assemblywoman has done little to stand up to her corrupt Democratic Majority colleagues and, in fact, joined them to vote for now-convicted felon Sheldon Silver as the speaker despite him facing serious FBI corruption charges. I will tirelessly pursue ethics reform and hold others accountable for breaking the public trust. New Yorkers deserve a representative that will fearlessly fight for them — their freedoms, families and economic interests.”

Boyark is running against Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner, a Democrat, who announced her plans to seek a second term in June. She was first elected in 2014.

The district includes the cities of Saratoga Springs and Mechanicville and the towns of Malta, Moreau, Northumberland, Saratoga, Stillwater and Wilton.
