2016 Markets at Round Lake

The Markets at Round Lake replaces Annual Crafts Festival

ROUND LAKEDeath Wish Coffee Co. has signed on to be a major sponsor for a two-day marketplace selling indie crafts, books, food and beverage throughout the village center next month.

The Markets at Round Lake will take place on Saturday, Aug. 13 and Sunday, Aug. 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will serve as a fundraiser for the Round Lake Libraries and feature four distinct, curated markets: an indie maker market, a progressive craft market, a used books market, and an artisanal food and drink Market.

The Woman’s Round Lake Improvement Society, presenters of the inaugural Markets at Round Lake, decided it was time for a major change after hosting a more traditional arts and craft festival for more than 30 years.

“The Markets at Round Lake is all about breaking from tradition while still honoring it,” said Eva Sbardella Sackal, co-chair and event producer. “Having Death Wish Coffee Co. as our major sponsor highlights that precisely. Many of these makers and artisans, like Death Wish, use age old techniques in new, distinct ways. You recognize their products before you even see their name.”

Death Wish Coffee is excited to be a part of the event, said Kane Grogan, events coordinator of Death Wish Coffee.

“It’s not very often we get to contribute to something in our backyard and this particular event is going to be fantastic,” Grogan said. “Hopefully this is the first of many to come.”

“Imagine the Markets at Round Lake as if it was your own store filled with all of your favorite things,” said Kim Sheridan-Dugmore, director of vendor relations and owner of The Quiet Woods in Round Lake. “That’s what it felt like as we curated makers and the approach our lovely jurors took when considering applications.”

Live entertainment sponsored by The Mill on Round Lake will feature musical guests Brian Gibney from Hair of the Dog with Jim McArdle as well as the North and South Dakotas and other live groups.

There will be O’Pablo’s, Charcoal Dole, and The Chuck Wagon food trucks along with Crepe Me Up of Saratoga!

The Markets at Round Lake is a chance to meet the makers, taste artisanal splendor, and shop local all while benefiting the Round Lake Libraries. Admission is free.

The Markets at Round Lake is sponsored in part by Death Wish Coffee Co., The Mill on Round Lake, Edible Capital District, And North, Conlin Studios, and the Vischer Ferry General Store. It is presented and produced by the Woman’s Round Lake Improvement Society and the Historic Village of Round Lake, NY and serves as a fundraiser for the Round Lake Libraries.
