Adventure Web Series to Run Through Saratoga County

BALLSTON SPA – Saratoga County will be front and center in a travel competition show that will make its way through the region this week.

Fireball Run,an adventure-travel  competition series distributed by Amazon Instant Video, will be in Saratoga County on Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30. The series follows 40 rally teams as they compete in various challenges on a course that extended over 2,000 miles.

The public is encouraged to meet the teams during their visit to the area. A public welcome reception will be held on Front Street in Ballston Spa from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the Thursday, as well as a VIP cocktail party in Clifton Park from 6 to 8:30 p.m. A farewell sendoff on Clifton Country Rd in Clifton Park between 7 and 9:30 a.m. on Friday, with shotgun start promptly at 9:30.

Two area teams will partake in the race, which marks the 10th season of the online series.

Team 23, or team Cellardweller, is led by Kevin Koval, of Adirondack Basement Systems, of Halfmoon, with teammate Todd Lutinski, of DryZone Basement Systems of Massachusetts. The team is representing Brittany Barnoski, , who has been missing from Albany since March 3, 2015. They hope to spread  word of Barnoski’s disappearance and hopefully find clues that lead to her recovery.

Team 82, or team Hellcat, features John Bove of G.A. Bove Fuels, which has offices in Mechanicville, Hudson Falls and Wells. Bove, along with teammate William Connallon, is searching for Samantha Kibalo, last seen Feb. 3, 2001, in Suffern.

Both teams are distributing 1,000 posters during the live production in an effort to raise awareness for the missing child. Since 2007 Fireball Run’s efforts have aided in the successful recovery of 45 missing children.

The series is filmed in real time and is billed as “factual entertainment,” meaning it depicts actual events and people and is not Reality TV.

Notable season 10 contestants include Brazilian astronaut, Marcos Pontes, actor Brian O’Halloran , billionaire reality star Jacqueline Siegel, and features the time-travelling car from Back to the Future along with other unique vehicles.
