Hi Foodie Friends,
There’s nothing more precious than little hands in the kitchen. Being that I’m an Assistant Toddler Teacher at Malta Montessori, I get the privileged to teach a cooking segment to them. Pumpkin Banana Pancakes is what’s on the menu.
I am very thankful for Pinterest. Our recipes must be nut-free, gluten-free and healthy. Pinterest is my go to site. They have great recipes for toddlers that are hands on, such as this one.
I find it amazing how the toddlers in my class are so attentive and excited to cook. To see through the children’s eyes and the smile when they crack an egg. Having a chance to stir ingredients and measure out a cup of flour. Stealing a bite of banana when they think you’re not looking. Or just making a mess and maybe a couple pancakes to go along with it. Most importantly they are having fun and learning.
Pumpkin Banana Pancakes were a hit. Easy to make with just 5 ingredients. If you are not a fan of pumpkin, substitute with applesauce. Add a side of your favorite maple syrup and you have a winning dish.
My recipe for these kid friendly pancakes is below. Feel free to visit Pinterest.com for more amazing, kid friendly ideas.
1/2 cup Gluten Free Oats
1 can Pumpkin Puree
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 Tsp. Cinnamon
Mix all ingredients together and cook on buttered pan.
