BALLSTON SPA – The Ballston Spa Central School District Music Department will host a series of free winter concerts beginning this December.
Members of the public are invited to attend, particularly students and families who wish to encourage and support the performing artists. The concerts will begin Thursday, Dec. 8 and run through Tuesday, Jan. 10., featuring students from the elementary to the high school level in eight different nights of music.
The High School Winter Concert series begins with performances by the Jazz Band and Choir Tuesday, Dec. 6. On Thursday, Dec. 8 the series continues with performances by the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Orchestra. The Grade Eight-Nine concert featuring the Concert Band, Concert Orchestra, Concert Jazz Band and Concert Chorus will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 13. All performances begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. and will be held in the Ballston Spa High School Auditorium, 220 Ballston Avenue.
The Middle School Winter Concerts will begin Monday, Dec. 12, featuring the Seventh Grade Band, Chorus and Orchestra. A week later, on Monday, Dec. 19, the Sixth Grade Band, Chorus and Orchestra will perform. Both concerts begin at 7 p.m. and are held in the High School Auditorium.
The Milton Terrace Elementary School will host a Winter Concert featuring the Orchestra, Band and Chorus Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. The Gordon Creek Elementary School will host its annual Winter Concert featuring the Orchestra, Band and Chorus in the Gymatorium, 50 Wood Road, Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.
The students from Malta Avenue Elementary School will present a Winter Concert on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Malta Avenue Auditorium, 70 Malta Ave. The Wood Road Elementary School will host a Winter Concert featuring the Orchestra, Band and Chorus Thursday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. in the school’s cafetorium, 200 Wood Road.
