I’m Ron Henry, a Village Trustee in Ballston Spa for the past year seeking election to a full term on March 21st. I am a proud 26-year Village Resident who served eight years on the Village’s Zoning Board of Appeals. My wife and I were lucky to raise our two grown children here, with our great schools and thriving downtown. We have witnessed so many positive changes, and we’ve continued moving the Village forward with a strong, stable plan for our futures. I want to continue working toward such results.
All municipalities face the same challenges we do: aging infrastructure and equipment, ever-changing technology, and handling of previously unconsidered environmental issues. Yet, we continue to find innovative, creative ways to move the Village forward with positive momentum, including $1 million in utility infrastructure spending over six years, grant applications for equipment, housing, and energy enhancements, and plans to improve our outreach through social media to create even more awareness beyond our daily personal contacts with our residents. However, technology will only supplement personal contacts the Mayor and his team embrace in a small Village like ours — like when the EPA informed us of necessary testing of homes neighboring the former Rickett’s site. No website would have informed those residents in the same way we did by visiting and advising them directly.
We have taken our Village from a “drive-thru” location to a “drive-to” destination, with community events that bring us closer, like Family Fun Day and Winter Fun Festival. I’m always available to discuss more ideas ([email protected]) and ask every resident to vote March 21st for both me and my well-qualified friend and fellow Trustee candidate, Bruce Couture. Let’s keep heading in the right direction in our “Village of Friends!”
