I’m Bruce Couture, a candidate for Ballston Spa Village Trustee on March 21st. I’ve loved residing in the Village for 19 years with my wife Carol and our son Simon, as it is a wonderful place to raise a family. I am seeking election because I want to continue the positive growth we’ve witnessed over these years.
I bring experience to the table after serving on the Milton Town Board for three years and on the Village’s Zoning Board of Appeals since 2004. These roles have given me a keen understanding of the challenges we face concerning growth, zoning, and redevelopment. From this experience, I know we can attract more businesses through targeted, creative zoning laws, creating more jobs for residents and additional tax revenue. When the Angelica and Rickett’s sites are remediated, I want to work with the Mayor’s team to have those sites redeveloped immediately. We must also continue creating parking for residents and visitors, including shoppers coming into our great Village.
Mayor Romano’s team has done tremendous work in elevating us to our current position with great transparency and constant resident contact, and I want to promote ideas to expand their work with the foundation so strong. It is crucial to continue promoting family-friendly activities like Family Fun Day and our many seasonal events, and we should expand our offerings for young and old alike. We must continue to seek grants to help improve residents’ homes, aging infrastructure, and energy usage. And we need to continue encouraging residents to repair their sidewalks through the Village’s reimbursement program.
I want to preserve and enhance Ballston Spa’s charm as a Village Trustee. Please vote March 21st for both me and current Trustee Ron Henry to help us continue this positive momentum. Thank you!
