MALTA – A local organization is hosting a night of drinks, food and music to raise funds for area vets in need.
The Cigar and Bourbon Bash will be held Thursday, April 20, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Carson’s Woodside Tavern, 57 Route 9P, Malta. The organizers of the Malta Veteran Appreciation Program hope to sell 100 tickets to offset the costs of projects planned for Malta vets.
The night will include live jazz, appetizers, chocolates, specialty drinks, raffles and auction items. There also will be bourbon and whiskey distillery tastings from Yankee Distillery, Upstate Distillery, Saratoga Courage and Parklane Tobacconist. Tickets cost $75 per person.
The group plans to use the funds for three designated projects for vets from Malta: a Vietnam veteran in need of a handicap ramp, a Vietnam vet who needs help to find a job and a laptop computer for work and a Korean vet who needs work done on his kitchen ceiling.
