U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class David A. Degon III graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Degon is a 2010 graduate of Ballston Spa High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2016 from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Lowell, Mass.
The Air Force is the lead agency for Joint Base San Antonio, comprising three primary locations at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, JBSA-Lackland and JBSA-Randolph plus 8 other operating locations and more than 200 mission partners. It’s the largest joint Department of Defense base.
