Police and Courts: June 29 – July 5, 2017

The following items are police and courts records from the Ballston Spa Police Department, Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office and New York State Police.

Ballston Spa Police Department

Unlicensed: Carl. F. Blasi III, 23, of Mechanicville, was arrested Sunday, July 2 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding.

Marijuana: William G. Cox, 24, of Malta, was arrested Tuesday, July 4 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Unlicensed: Darryl S. Fitzgerald, 54, of Ballston Spa, was arrested Tuesday, July 4 and charged with operating a motor vehicle without an ingition interlock and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, third degree.

Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office

Controlled substance: Robert M. Herring Jr., 51, of Ballston Spa, pleaded guilty Friday, June 30 to criminal sale of a controlled substance, third degree.

Herring committed the crime in Saratoga Springs earlier this year.

Contraband: Victoria F. Amaya, 22, of Wilton, pleaded guilty Friday, June 30 to attempted promotion of prison contraband, first degree.

Amaya committed the crimes in Milton in February.

Mischief: Justin M. Lematty, 28, of Malta, was sentenced Friday, June 30 to up to three years in state prison.

Lematty pleaded guilty earlier this year to criminal mischief, third degree, for a crime he committed in Malta in January.
