Rebuilding Together Opens Store in Ballston Spa

BALLSTON SPA – The local chapter of an organization focused on preserving affordable home ownership now has a store here to help Saratoga County residents.

Rebuilding Together Saratoga County opened its store this month at 132 Milton Ave., according to The Saratogian. The nonprofit has been helping low-income residents make repairs to their homes since 2003, and this is its first foray into selling gently used furniture, household goods and building materials in an area storefront.

“This is an incredible opportunity to find new homes for donated building materials and household goods, while raising additional funding that will help our neighbors have safer and healthier homes,” Michelle Larkin, executive director of Rebuilding Together Saratoga County told The Saratogian in a statement. “It’s really a win-win for the community.”

The organization will continue to welcome donations, but the store will be another means to raise funds and cover costs, Larkin said.

“We just want this to be a place where people will want to come; whether it’s to learn about how to take care of their homes, asking for help for repairs for their homes or to come and just learn, do crafts, hang out,” she told The Saratogian. “We just want this to be a real community center.”
