Lewza presents tentative $6.7 million dollar budget to Milton board members

Town of Milton supervisor Dan Lewza presented the tentative town budget of approximately $6.7 million dollars to the members of the board at Wednesday night’s meeting.

Speaking on behalf of the budget committee including Darlene Allen, town comptroller; Frank Blaisdell, town councilman and Jason Miller, town recreation maintenance supervisor, Lewza continued to be vague about the status of the town’s financial position and indicated the long promised audit still had final details pending.

Lewza asked the board members to go through the budget very carefully, “page by page…because the way we set this budget is going to really impact our future.” He said “we need to get this one right, to set the course.”

Town of Milton and Village of Ballston Spa (in Milton) residents concerned about tax increases and fiscal mismanagement should attend the League of Women Voters meet the candidates forum this Tuesday, October 17th at 7 pm at the Milton Community Center on 310 Northline Road (lwvsaratoga.org). The public deserves to hear from all candidates. Not showing up, as Republicans did in the Village elections last Spring, sends a strong message to voters that their questions and concerns are not worth addressing. Hopefully all candidates will attend this time.
