A man is facing charges after officials say he drove into a pond early this morning.
According to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Reece Freeman, 20, of Ballston Spa drove into a pond on Schauber Road in the town of Ballston just after 2 a.m. Saturday.
When officials arrive, they say he told them he was the passenger in the vehicle prompting deputies to go into the frigid water in an effort to find the driver.
Eventually Freeman admitted he was indeed the driver and there was nobody else in the vehicle, which was almost completely submerged.
Freeman faces numerous charges including driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 percent of greater, reckless endangerment and falsely reporting an incident.
