Ballston Spa High School Student honored as one of 20 under 20

Ballston Spa High School senior Alexis Gotham was featured in the October issue of [email protected] magazine for her work in Haiti. Gotham is one of 20 girls under age 20 highlighted.

According to her mother, Janice Ceccucci,  the 16-year old started a cloth diaper program as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award project. The Gold Award is the highest level to achieve in Girl Scouts given to girls who “demonstrate extraordinary leadership”. Gotham says she was completely surprised and felt “awesome” about being selected. She said she was nominated by five people although she is not privvy to who the people were that nominated her.

The [email protected] article featured Gotham’s photo and a question and answer format that said: ” Where do you see yourself in five years? Probably working in a hospital as a nurse practitioner in the ICU with children; Who do you consider your greatest role model? My mom, she influences my life and Advice for the future 20 Under 20 classes? No matter how hard your project is, you can achieve it. That’s how I started Keep Kids Klean.”
