Malta gets a $100k grant for park renovations

Senator Jim Tedisco secured a $100,000 grant for renovations at the Malta Community Park

The grant will be used to fund phase one of the park improvements, which includes making the park more accessible, addressing drainage issues and making infield improvements to the baseball field.

“I am proud to be able to secure this state grant for $100,000 to begin to make some improvements to the Malta Community Park so future generations of children, families, and residents of all ages can enjoy nature in this very special place,” Tedisco said.

The 22-acre park is a popular destination for residents for nature walks, visiting the playground for children and participating in summer camps. The park harbors courts and fields for all sports including, basketball, tennis, baseball and softball.

“On behalf of the Town of Malta, I am pleased to accept this grant from Senator James Tedisco and thank him for procuring this funding that will help us get a good start on Phase One of our Malta Community Park Renovation Project.  Thank you, Senator Tedisco,” said Malta Town Supervisor Vincent DeLucia.
