Larry D. Allen
MALTA – Larry D. Allen, 70, passed away, unexpectedly, on Thursday, Jan.11.
Larry is survived by his daughter Jessica Gadway (Tim Pugh) and her children Aries, Brandon, Kayleigh and Gavin; stepchildren Victoria Greene and her son Bronson, Richard Dingman (Robin) and his children Loryn, Austin and Asa and Becky Holt and her children Quennah, Jaysen, Jared and Jacob; siblings Robert (Glenda) Thomas, Kenneth Nicholson, Barbara (Roy) Searle, Nancy Hill, Michael Allen (Jennifer), Edward (Mary) Delaney, David Allen; Uncle Clarence (Helen) Allen; his beloved companion Paula Stage and her daughter Shana and grandson, Quinn and many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services with military honors will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22 at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville. A gathering will follow at the American Legion, 23 Pleasant St., Ballston Spa.

MALTA – Ralph Piombino, 91, passed away on Jan. 10.
Ralph is survived by his son John and his wife Catherine, his grandsons Matthew, Philip, and James Piombino all of Ballston Spa, NY. Ralph was fortunate to have Sharon in his life who was a dedicated, caring, and loving friend.
Ralph will be buried next to his wife Mary in Connecticut at a later date.
William (Bill) E. Marshall
William (Bill) E. Marshall, 62, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Troy, N.Y. on March 10, 1955 and was a 1973 graduate of Stillwater High School.
Bill was a deputy for the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department for over 33 years. In addition, he worked part-time as a police officer in the Village of Ballston Spa and the Village of Corinth.
Bill loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, having traveled to Colorado, Ohio and Texas with the Grady Court Outfitters: Bruce Gronczniak, Rick Hopeck and Tony Ballestero. Bill was the vice president and former president of Blue Knights NY VI Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club.
Bill was a well-known member in the Stillwater, Ballston Spa and Galway communities having coached numerous sports teams and young athletes.
Bill was predeceased by his mother Roberta Bain Winney, father John Marshall, daughter Shannon Marshall and grandson Kaiden Marshall. Bill is survived by his wife Sheila and his children Amy Marshall-Uber (Dan), Craig Marshall, Chad Marshall, Cody Marshall and Shane Marshall; grandchildren Daniel, Kendall, Trent and Corbin; brothers Steven Marshall (Eunice), Kenneth Marshall (Morine) and Randy Marshall; and nephews Steven, Nate, Seth, and Mack.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, Jan. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stillwater High School, 1068 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. All area Law Enforcement will assemble in the parking lot at 9:30 a.m.
A service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in South Argyle Cemetery in the Spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bill to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department Explorer Program.
The family would like to thank Dr. Nigam at Albany Medical Center, Dr. Delmonte and the nurses at Saratoga Hospital Oncology for their care and compassion. Special appreciation goes to the Community Hospice of Saratoga County and his RN Kelli.
