Chess Club Hosts Regional Tournament in Ballston Spa

BALLSTON SPA – The Third Annual Scholastic Chess Tournament was recently hosted by the Wood Road Elementary School Chess Club. Over 150 students and adults competed in the four-round tournament with more than twenty-five schools from all over New York State participating.

Malta Sunrise Rotary Continues Support for African Project

MALTA – Linda Gorham of Qholaqhoe Mountain Connections (QMC) accepted an $800 check from Malta Sunrise Rotary Treasurer Cynthia Young and President Bob Conner during a club meeting on Jan. 18.

MALTA

Two men have been arrested for a string of burglaries in both Saratoga and Rensselaer Counties. Tyler Paradis, 27 and Nelson Bruno, Jr., 28 are alleged to have stoledn tools, lawn equipment and other items and selling them for cash at various pawn shops. Paradis is in jail and Bruno given an appearance ticket. Both due back in Malta Town Court at a later date.
