Dolores V. Rhodes
Dolores V. Rhodes, 76, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Dolores is survived by her daughter Christine Rhodes; siblings Helene LaRose (Richard), Robert Hipwell (Charlotte), Thomas Hipwell, Marcia Kane, sisters in law Barbara Testo Hipwell and Barbara Burhans Hipwell, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27 at St Mary’s Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Dolores may be made to St. Mary’s Church, 167 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, NY 12020 or to one’s choice.
Joseph Francis Murray, Sr.
Joseph Francis Murray, Sr. passed away at his home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Sunday, Feb.18 at the age of 70. He was born in Ballston Spa, NY to Ernest and Abbie Murray.
He is survived by his wife, Veronica (Ronne); four children, Abbie, Joseph II, Meredith and George; four siblings, John (Debbie), Marty (Wayne), Ann (Harry) and Julia (Timothy); six grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. His sister-in-law, Ellen, also survives him.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, March 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A service will be held at 11:30am.
Burial with military honors will follow at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist in covering funeral costs.
Elaine N. Whalen
Elaine N. Whalen, 79, passed away on Sunday, Feb.18.
Elaine is survived by her husband Thomas, and their children, Lorrie Patenaude (Michael) of Gansevoort, Mark Whalen of Troy, Timothy Whalen (Mary) of Porter Corners, and Beth Smisloff (Mark) of Saratoga Springs; grandchildren Kelsey Latham, Carter Older, Nathan Patenaude, Jessica Quigley, Tera Patenaude, Katie Whalen, Thomas Whalen, Piper Whalen, Rachel Smisloff, Grace Smisloff, William Smisloff and Leah Smisloff; great-granddaughters Harper Patenaude and Scarlett Quigley; twin sister Liz Frank; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation, 302 West Main St #100, Avon, CT 06001 or Estherville Animal Shelter, 100 Russell Rd, Greenfield Center, NY 12833.
Stanley “Stan” Ren, Jr
Stanley Ren, Jr, age 83, passed away on Saturday, Feb.17.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joyce Ren, his children Stephen (Peggy) Ren, Eric (Bridget) Ren, Mark Ren, Karen (Max) Maxwell, his sister Rosemarie (Donald) Ruck, his brother Edwin Ren, his grandchildren Maureen Ren, Sarah Ren, Justin Blount, Harrison Blount, Caroline Ren, and Colin Ren, along with nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were Tuesday, Feb. 20. Committal service will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23 at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Saratoga Springs.
