MILTON – A Ballston Spa woman was arrested for allegedly stealing money orders from Ash Management in Milton between February 2017 and January 2018, adding her name to the payee line, and either cashing or depositing them – to the sum of $23,701.80.
Melissa S. Goodhue, 33, of Ballston Spa, was arrested after a several-month long investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
An employee of Ash Management, 894 Rock City Road, Milton, she was charged with third-degree grand larceny and second-degree forgery, D felonies, and first-degree falsifying business records, an E felony.
The falsifying charge stems from her attempts to conceal her allegedly actions, according to police. She is alleged to have altered the official business records.
The stolen money orders were meant to pay rent and taxes to Ash Management’s subsidiaries.
Goodhue was arraigned before Hon. Timothy Brown in the Town of Milton Justice Court and was released to the custody of the Saratoga County Pre-Trial Services. She is scheduled to appear in Milton Town Court at 9 a.m. June 19.
