Police make arrest in Ballston burglaries

BALLSTON – William J. Hoffay, 44, of Averill Park, was arrested by the New York State Police June 16 in connection with three burglaries of businesses along Route 50 in the town of Ballston in April.

Hoffay was charged with three counts of third-degree felony burglary, one count of third-degree felony criminal mischief, and two counts of fourth-degree misdemeanor criminal mischief.

He is accused of unlawfully forcing entry into three businesses located on Route 50 in Ballston on April 5, 2018, and allegedly committing crimes once inside the buildings.

He was arraigned in the Ballston Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to reappear in Ballston Town Court at 6 p.m. Aug. 14, 2018.
