SARATOGA COUNTY — The Saratoga County Water Authority took first place in the Saratoga County Tap Water Contest and the 2018 Capital Region Tap Water Taste Contest on July 26, 2018.
The goal of the contests is to inform the general public about the value and quality of public drinking water through a fun, non-scientific competition.
The water authority operates a 14 mgd facility which draws its water from the upper Hudson River and treats it at a state-of-the-art facility in the town of Moreau. It is then distributed south throughout Saratoga County, serving the communities of Moreau, Wilton, Clifton Park, Ballston, Round Lake, Malta and Stillwater.
The Saratoga County Water Authority moves on to the statewide contest at the New York State Fair, which decides who has the best drinking water in New York.
