Senator Tedisco hailed by state’s leading advocate for small businesses for “fighting for lower taxes, regulatory reform, easing the cost of doing business in New York”
Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C,I,REF-Glenville) today announced that he has been endorsed by NFIB NY, the state’s leading advocacy organization for small businesses.
Tedisco received a perfect score of 100 percent pro-small business and jobs score by NFIB in their legislative report card. Last year, Tedisco was recognized with the “Guardian of Small Business Award” by NFIB.
Tedisco was the first author of the Property Tax Cap, which put a lid on out of control tax hikes and has saved taxpayers $15.3 billion statewide and residents of the 49thState Senate District $344.5 million since its implementation. As a member of the Senate, Tedisco voted for and together with his colleagues, helped pass a state spending cap in the Senate and successfully stopped $1 billion in new taxes from getting into the state budget.
“Our small businesses and outspoken advocates like NFIB NY are the unsung heroes who drive our economy, create jobs and help keep the American Dream alive for millions of New Yorkers. Unfortunately, our state has become notorious for making it very challenging for our small businesses to grow. That’s got to change. I will continue to stand up and speak out for our overburdened taxpayers and small businesses who create most of the jobs in our economy. Thanks to our small business owners in NFIB for their strong endorsement and for being such a strong voice for our small businesses,” said Tedisco.
“Whether it’s fighting for lower taxes, regulatory reform, or easing the cost of doing business in New York, Senator Jim Tedisco is the type of legislator that Capital Region small businesses can depend on. As evidenced by his perfect score on NFIB’s 2017-18 New York State Voting Record, Senator Tedisco understands that growing our economy starts with supporting small and independent businesses that are striving to create economic opportunity across New York State,” said Greg Biryla, NFIB’s State Director in New York.
Tedisco has also been endorsed by the Police Benevolent Association of New York State (PBA of NYS), CSEA, PEF, AFL-CIO of NYS, UA, Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union No. 7, and National Association of Letter Carriers for re-election to serve as the state Senator for New York’s 49thSenate District.
The 49thSenate District includes parts of Saratoga, Schenectady and Herkimer Counties and all of Fulton and Hamilton Counties.
