Letter to the Editor: In Light of a Recent Threat Made by a Student

Good morning ~

This is a copy of the same letter sent to the BS Middle School Principal.

I had the opportunity to read an excerpt of the letter from the BS School Superintendent regarding a threatening statement on one of the school buses. I agree that these threats must be addressed and taken seriously.

My question is:

WHAT HAS THE SCHOOL DONE FOR THIS KID?
WHAT HAS THE SCHOOL DONE TO PROTECT HIM FROM BEING BULLIED AND BEAT UP BY MULTIPLE STUDENTS ???

What has the school done to protect this kid from becoming so frightened and angry that he is pushed beyond his personal limits?

The school has the responsibility to protect and keep safe ALL students in the halls and on the buses and at the bus stops.

What is the school doing to make an example of The BULLIES who drove him to make this threat?

Is it the classic answer that ‘we didn’t know?’ or ‘it didn’t happen on school property?’ I suspect there were blind eyes taken prior to this tragedy.

I believe that everyone in the school needs to be put on notice that this DOES NOT HAPPEN IN ISOLATION.

EVERYONE contributed to that threat by ignoring the fact that one of their classmates was being treated brutally and they all ignored it.
