Curtis Lumber’s Pet-a-Palooza 2016
June 18, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Pet-a-Palooza 2016 will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016, at the Curtis Lumber at 885 State Route 67 in Ballston Spa. This is the seventh year for the event. Adoption fees vary, but many adoption rates are lowered for the event. Some animals may not be available for same-day adoption since every shelter and group has its own policies and procedures, and many require applications and/or home visits.
However, there will be hundreds of adoptable animals from area shelters and rescue groups. Attendees will be able to choose from dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, horses, reptiles and more. They can also meet with local veterinarians, groomers, pet sitters and other pet service providers that are offering discounts off their services. Plus, there will be custom-built dog houses available with 50/50 raffles as well as food vendors, including Ben & Jerry’s, Bully Dogs Hot Dogs, Fitzy’s Fork in the Road, Grillin’ and Chillin’ and Mom and Pop’s Cafe. JoJo’s Fabulous Faces will be offering face painting, and Balloon Gal Jenny will be doing balloon animal twisting. Rich Conley will be available for pet caricatures, and Benson’s Pet Center is passing out bags of cat and dog food with each adoption.
The event will also feature low-cost microchipping clinics. It will be $20 per current pet or $15 per pet if the pet is adopted at Pet-a-Palooza. That includes free lifetime registration and is only while supplies last.
Pet-a-Palooza is the largest one-day pet adoption event in New York and Vermont and will take place rain or shine! Visit the Curtis Lumber Pet-a-Palooza website to see the many shelters and rescue groups that will be attending, as well as the other participating locations occurring throughout the region at the same time.
Curtis Lumber owners Jay and Kendra Curtis started Pet-a-Palooza to put the spotlight on adopting shelter pets. They also want to get the word out to have pets spayed or neutered.
