Ornament Painting for Ballston Spa Village Christmas Tree
October 28, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The Ballston Spa Public Library, the Ballston Spa Community Center and Creative Endeavors Arts & Gifts shop are coming together for an event where children and adults can paint ornaments to be hung on the village holiday tree. This is a great opportunity to be involved in a wonderful community building project!
The ornaments are made using discs of core plastic with wire hangers that participants paint with their own design. The village is sponsoring the event with donations of paint by Curtis Lumber and Valspar Paint. All you need to bring is you creativity and a smock.
The dates for the general public to paint ornaments at the Ballston Spa Public Library are:
Saturday, Oct. 28, 1 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 4, 1 p.m.
Saturday Nov. 18, 1 p.m.
All ages are invited to attend. This is a free event, all materials will be supplied.
A goal to have over 350 ornaments painted, up on the tree and hung all around the village has been set.
The Ballston Spa holiday tree is located in Wiswall Park and lit by Santa and Mrs. Claus at the end of the parade each year. They will be hung when Santa lights the tree after the parade and they will remain on the tree throughout the Christmas holiday.
The tree lighting will take place on Friday, Dec. 1 following the holiday parade starting at 6:30 p.m.
For ages four and up. Anyone interested in participating should call the library at (518)885-5002 to reserve a spot. RSVP is best, but all are welcome to come by and paint.
